As a central WLAN controller, the LANCOM WLC-1000 gives you full control over medium-sized installations with 25 to 1,000 access points and WLAN routers while keeping workloads to a minimum. New access points are automatically commissioned in the network using zero-touch deployment and provided with appropriate configurations. Intelligent functions such as roaming optimization and the selection of the best frequency band and WLAN channel ensure optimal utilization even in complex wireless networks. The LANCOM WLC-1000 thus saves the administrator time and offers the user the best WLAN experience.

Central firmware rollout, monitoring & management
With the LANCOM WLC-1000, up to 1,000 access points and WLAN routers can be configured and controlled locally and centrally, fully automatically – a massive time saver and easier work for the network administrator. The WLAN controller thus offers uniform network control, security and reliability.

Zero-Touch Deployment
Fast and easy network integration of new access points and automatic configuration assignment – without manual configuration. After network authentication, the LANCOM WLC-1000 immediately assigns the appropriate configuration to the WLAN device.

Optimized roaming behavior of WLAN clients
LANCOM WLAN controllers ensure communication between the managed access points and WLAN routers. This means that clients are efficiently transferred from one WLAN device to the other when switching between two radio fields – without connection interruptions.

VLAN, RADIUS and IEEE 802.1X/EAP functions
Thanks to extensive virtualization and security functions, WLAN networks can be designed very efficiently and in accordance with the company's own security policies. The integrated VLAN function enables the separation of several securely separated WLAN networks in just one infrastructure. Professional security functions also allow the administrator to allow network access only for authorized clients.

Highest operational reliability
The LANCOM Smart Controller principle allows for maximum operational reliability: While the management data runs through the controller, traffic data is sent from the client directly to the access point and from there directly to the router. If a controller fails, the access point switches to “stand-alone operation” and communication between the client and the access point is maintained. This means that there are no unproductive times in everyday work because employees cannot access the network or because WLAN-controlled production systems fail.

Dynamic radio field optimization thanks to Active Radio Control
The LANCOM WLC-1000 supports the WLAN optimization concept LANCOM Active Radio Control. The intelligent combination of innovative features contained in the LCOS operating system such as Client Management (Client & Band Steering), Adaptive Noise Immunity and RF Optimization sustainably increases the performance of the WLAN and supports the administrator in professional WLAN management.

high availability
In combination with the LANCOM High Availability Clustering Option, several WLAN controllers are grouped into a highly available device group. This means that configuration changes, functions and extensions made to one WLC can be automatically transferred to the other WLCs in the cluster without having to manage each individual device manually – a huge time saver for the administrator.

Maximum future security
LANCOM products are designed for long-term use and therefore have future-proof hardware dimensions. Even across product generations, updates to the LANCOM Operating System – LCOS – are available free of charge several times a year, including “major features”.
