Even light pressure on the handles is enough for the wrench to clamp firmly onto the workpiece in the direction of rotation. This highly useful self-clamping effect significantly supports the application of high torques with Knipex corner pipe wrenches. To maintain the self-clamping effect, the wrench is also reversed when changing the direction of rotation.
