Stackable full-layer 3 multi-gigabit access switch with PoE++
This fully managed access switch with the latest Power over Ethernet standard IEEE 802.3bt and full Layer 3 functionality is the ideal solution for demanding infrastructures in enterprise environments. With its extensive range of industry-standard ports, it offers tremendous performance even under high load and enables uplinking and stacking. Its 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports support 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, providing the necessary high-performance basis for operating Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E access points and other network components with high performance requirements, such as PoE++-powered lighting concepts or displays. In addition, professional redundancy functions and LANCOM Failsafe Stacking guarantee fail-safe operation with the best possible protection thanks to the Limited Lifetime Warranty (LLW). Orchestrated via the LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC), its configuration is automated.
High performance on 54 ports
The LANCOM GS-4554XUP is equipped with 24x 2.5 Multi-Gigabit PoE+ Ethernet ports, 24x 2.5 Multi-Gigabit PoE++ Ethernet ports, as well as 4 SFP+ and 2 QSFP+ ports supporting transmission rates of 10 and 40 Gbps, respectively. With a data throughput of 480 Gbps on the backplane, it also offers wire-speed performance even under high load. This multi-gigabit access switch thus forms the powerful foundation for modern network infrastructures in all industries and application areas.
A high-performance basis for Wi-Fi 6E – PoE included
Thanks to its 48 high-performance 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, the LANCOM GS-4554XUP is the ideal LAN-side foundation for integrating the new Wi-Fi 6E standard into modern infrastructures. The increased data rates required by Wi-Fi 6E require 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, as the performance requirements exceed those of a single Gigabit Ethernet port. Combined with the appropriate PoE power, this switch enables the operation of up to 24 Wi-Fi 6E access points on the PoE++ ports, as well as other network components with high performance requirements – without the need for additional electrical installations.
Central power supply without additional electrical installation
As a powerful PoE switch, the LANCOM GS-4554XUP supplies connected PoE devices without additional power supplies or cabling. It supports the Power over Ethernet standards IEEE 802.3af (PoE), IEEE 802.3at (PoE+), and IEEE 802.3bt PD Type 4 (PoE++) with up to 90 watts per port. Thanks to its high power reserves, a PoE budget of 1,440 watts is available when both power supplies are used in power mode, making it ideal for efficiently supplying power to PoE devices with high energy requirements.
Advantages
Redundant network topologies through high-performance stacking
Stacking allows up to eight physical switches to be combined into a single logical unit, making them easy to maintain and manage – whether at a single location or even distributed across multiple sites. Using the non-stop forwarding function, the stack manager cyclically supplies its standby with current information such as the MAC table and its own status information. In the event of a failure, the standby manager can take over without any noticeable network interruption thanks to the hitless failover function. Subsequent network expansion is also possible, as the new switch receives its configuration automatically from the stack manager and is ready for use within seconds. Furthermore, the stacking function can be activated on both the front SFP+ uplink ports and the rear QSFP+ uplink ports, enabling a mixed stack with the LANCOM Aggregation Switches XS-5110F and XS-5116QF.
Full control over your investment
Fully equipped ex works, ready to use immediately, everything from a single source: Based on the “Total Cost of Ownership” (TCO) principle, the LANCOM GS-4554XUP gives you planning security regarding the acquisition costs for your network expansion from the outset and at all times. Thanks to the full configuration with all necessary industry-standard ports, time-consuming and costly retrofitting with proprietary port modules is a thing of the past. Furthermore, you can obtain the required SFP modules and direct attach cables directly from us in tested LANCOM quality through our accessories portfolio. In addition to the guarantee of maximum operational reliability through extensive load and long-term tests of the modules, you also save yourself long delivery times.
Full-Layer-3 routing for fast data exchange
The LANCOM GS-4554XUP is fully Layer 3 capable with policy-based, dynamic routing via OSPF, enabling dynamic network routes across one or more network segments. This significantly increases network efficiency, for example, in mesh networks with multiple aggregation switches at different locations.
Hardware redundancy
The LANCOM GS-4554XUP features a hot-swappable PSU (Power Supply Unit) that allows for quick and uninterrupted replacement of the power supply in the event of a failure. A separate slot allows for the addition of a second PSU. The integration of two redundant power supplies allows for highly fail-safe scenarios or the bundling of PoE power, thus doubling the power output. In addition, the redundant (N+1) fan concept ensures fail-safe switch operation in the event of one of the two fans failing.
Hybrid management
Like all LANCOM products, this switch also features hybrid management. Depending on your personal preference, you have the following management options: LANtools, web-based GUI, generic CLI, or LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC). You also benefit from the freedom to switch between management options at any time. This allows for a seamless transition to a cloud-operated network at a later date (requires a valid LMC license). Meanwhile, the generic CLI ensures that this switch can be seamlessly integrated into existing LAN networks.
Cloud-managed LAN and switch stacking
The LANCOM GS-4554XUP, with the LANCOM Management Cloud, offers fast and easy network integration and automatic configuration assignment. Cloud-managed LAN replaces individual device configuration with holistic network orchestration and enables automatic VLAN assignment to the desired switch ports. This allows all configurations to be rolled out with a click of the mouse, making even more complex networking scenarios easy to administer. When using the LANCOM GS-4554XUP in a stack, cloud-managed switch stacking also ensures convenient management and monitoring of the entire stack. The cloud independently detects which and how many switches belong to the stack. Learn more about professional network connection and configuration in the Switch Stacking Design Guide.
Secure remote management
Thanks to secure communication protocols such as SSH, SSL, and SNMPv3, the LANCOM GS-4554XUP enables professional remote network management. Furthermore, the switch supports the TACACS+ protocol for authentication, authorization, and accounting. This optimal solution promises maximum security, especially when managing and monitoring cross-site networks.
LANCOM Limited Lifetime Warranty (LLW)
This enterprise switch is backed by the LANCOM Limited Lifetime Warranty. Regardless of the operating time, the replacement service is valid until the device reaches its end of life (max. 10 years). The perfect complement: In the event of a hardware defect, ensure minimal downtime with next-business-day delivery of a replacement device. We recommend LANcare NBD Replacement or, in combination with guaranteed service times, LANcare Direct Advanced 24/7 or 10/5.
