Strong DDR5 overclocking
Comprehensive memory tuning options are the cornerstone of ROG motherboards. For DDR5, the Maximus Z690 lineup pushes the performance envelope by offering a range of overclocking parameters not only for high-speed kits but also for entry-level memory modules with a locked power management IC (PMIC).

– A special circuit on the motherboard bypasses the PMIC limitations of DDR5 memory, allowing you to exceed the standard 1.1V limit and increase the frequency and timing to the maximum.
– Typically, with a restricted PMIC that has been unlocked, the system must be completely powered down every time the memory voltage is adjusted. ROG motherboards utilize onboard hardware and firmware to circumvent this annoying limitation by enabling voltage adjustments through the same soft reset process used with previous generations of DDR memory.
