Always stay online and prevent data loss
As soon as the power goes out, an APC Smart-UPS immediately supplies emergency power to all connected devices. Since this happens automatically with an APC UPS, you can prevent unwanted failures of a PC, server or switch, for example. With the APC PowerChute Network Shutdown software, you can even shut down critical IT hardware automatically and in a controlled manner when the UPS battery is almost empty. This prevents data loss, downtime and physical damage to the hardware.

extend the term
By connecting external battery packs (SMX120RMBP2U) you can easily increase the number of minutes the APC SMX UPS can provide autonomous emergency power. Even several hours of runtime are possible.

Security
In addition, a Smart-UPS protects connected devices from voltage spikes caused by lightning, among other things. This APC emergency power supply is ideal for use in (small) companies.

Manage your Smart-UPS
Thanks to the pre-installed network card (ap9641), you can easily connect the APC UPS to the network. This allows you to remotely monitor and manage the UPS (SNMP) and the UPS can send a shutdown signal to multiple physical and/or virtual servers using the PowerChute Network Shutdown software.

PowerChute network shutdown
PowerChute Network Shutdown is UPS management software that works with the UPS Network Management Card to protect Windows, Linux and host ESXi, as well as hyper-converged and virtual infrastructure*. In the event of a power outage, PowerChute can gracefully shut down your virtual machines and the pre-configured boot sequence ensures they are powered back on.

remote management and monitoring of your network

Rack/Tower convertible
The APC Smart-UPS SMX is rack/tower convertible. Since both feet and 4-post rack mounting brackets are included, you can mount it in a rack or stand it upright.

Extend the lifespan
The internal battery cartridge (APCRBC117) can be easily, safely and independently replaced by the user without having to turn off the APC SMX3000RMHV2UNC or connected devices. This is an easy and cost-effective way to extend the life of the APC Smart-UPS and keep your devices online at all times.

warranty extension
The SMX3000RMHV2UNC comes with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty, except for the battery, which has a 2-year manufacturer's warranty. Both are extended by 3 years to 6 and 5 years respectively with the APC Service Pack (WBEXTWAR3YR-SP-04).

Switched socket groups: remote restart and step-by-step start
Thanks to the Switched Outlet Groups, it is possible to configure a phased/delayed switch-on per UPS outlet group. This reduces the UPS peak load and brings it closer to the constant load, thus limiting UPS oversizing.

It is also possible to reset a group of several UPS outlets and the devices connected to them. This is even possible remotely when using a network card (ap9640) in combination with Ecostruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI).

You also cannot eliminate critical loads; thereby extending the runtime of critical equipment.
