The Aruba CX 8360 v2 Switch Series delivers a flexible and innovative approach to the application, security, and scalability requirements of the mobility, cloud, and IoT era. These switches meet the next-generation core and aggregation layer requirements of campus, virtual, and cloud data center environments. The first switch in this series is the Aruba CX 8360-48Y6C v2 Switch.

Main features

Modular cloud-native architecture
– The Aruba CX 8360 v2 AOS-CX switch series simplifies the complex management of data center networks with automation options that adapt to your IT organization's operating model.
– Proactively detect issues and accelerate troubleshooting with actionable insights provided by an analytics engine built into each switch. The continuously available infrastructure is designed for resiliency and zero-downtime upgrades.
– REST APIs and Python scripts enable fine-grained integration with other workflow systems and services.
– Continuous state synchronization provides excellent fault tolerance and high availability. The continuously available infrastructure is designed for resiliency and zero-downtime upgrades.

Aruba Network Analytics Engine
– The Aruba Network Analytics Engine (NAE) for advanced telemetry and automation. The NAE is an industry-unique monitoring and troubleshooting system. NAE significantly improves network operations and offers a unique ability to monitor network health and troubleshoot congestion-related issues.
– Customers can use data from the time series database (TSDB) to store configuration and operating status and write software modules for troubleshooting. This data can also be used for trend analysis, anomaly identification, and predict future capacity requirements.

High availability and reliability
– All software processes in the Aruba CX 8360 v2 Switch Series run as microservices that communicate through the switch's state database; there is no direct communication between microservices. In the event of a software crash, the impact of the disruption would be limited.
– ArubaOS-CX's ability to maintain synchronous state across two control planes enables a unique high-availability solution – the Aruba Virtual Switching Extension (VSX).
– Aruba VSX offers a robust yet simple high-availability solution with a unique control plane synchronization design and a hardware and software redundant architecture. It deploys two chassis with an inter-switch link, maintaining their independent control.

Software-defined automation
– The Aruba CX 8360 v2 switch series is powered by Aruba Fabric Composer, an intelligent, API-driven, software-defined orchestration solution that simplifies and accelerates the deployment of leaf-spine networks and the day-to-day operations of rack-mounted compute and storage infrastructures.
– They orchestrate a discrete group of switches as a unified network fabric to simplify operations and troubleshooting. This infrastructure- and application-specific solution also automates various configuration and lifecycle events.
