This managed industrial USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps) hub with 7 ports allows users to enable and disable individual USB ports and restart the hub using the USB Hub Administrator software (free download). Managed USB Hub

The USB hub administrator software must be installed on the host computer and allows the user to remotely control access to the device and manage its operational functions. With this software, users can:

• Enable or disable individual or all ports of the USB hub.
• Restart the USB hub.
• Set a password to restrict unauthorized access.
• Save the port status for quick setup in specific applications.
• Use the Command Line Interface (CLI) commands for command-line operation or the development of your own applications.

The software is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux, making it highly versatile. It supports an unlimited number of managed USB hubs, allowing you to connect multiple hubs to a single host computer or cascade them.

Robust and reliable

The industrial USB hub features a robust, durable metal housing that protects it from potential damage caused by accidental drops or sudden impacts. Furthermore, it offers electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection with 15 kV air and 8 kV contact ESD protection level 4. This rugged construction ensures resilience in demanding industrial environments, providing peace of mind for users where durability and reliability are paramount.

Power Flexibility

The USB hub offers flexible power supply options to meet diverse user needs. It supports a wide voltage range of +7 to 24 volts DC, making it compatible with various power sources. The USB hub features two DC inputs, one with a terminal block and the other with a concentric connector. You can power the USB hub via either input or both simultaneously. When an external power source is connected, the USB hub supports USB 1.2 charging and delivers up to 1.5A (7.5W) to six of its downstream ports, allowing you to power and quickly charge external devices.

For optimal performance, an external power source is required. StarTech.com offers an external power supply (part number: ITB20D3250, sold separately) that allows you to use the USB hub at maximum power.

Mounting options

The USB hub was designed with user-friendliness and adaptability in mind. Thanks to the integrated mounting brackets, installation is very easy. The hub can be attached to a variety of surfaces such as walls or desks. The DIN rail mount ensures secure installation in industrial environments.

High-performance

The rugged USB hub supports SuperSpeed USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps) and offers backward compatibility with older peripherals. In addition, the USB hub provides enhanced security through the USB Event Monitor utility, a feature of StarTech.com Connectivity Tools software.
