External SSD/HDD Docking Station | USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbit/s) to SATA III and IDE

Thanks to the USB 3.0 Universal HDD/SSD Dock UNIDOCKU33, you can directly access your 2.5″ or 3.5″ IDE and SATA hard drives via two top-loading drive bays without having to mount the drives in a computer or external enclosure or bay.

This hard drive docking station is equipped with UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol), allowing you to use the fastest drive technologies, such as SATA III (6 Gb/s) solid-state drives (SSDs) and hybrid drives, in combination with a UASP-enabled host controller, at speeds up to 70% faster than conventional USB 3.0. The bay design keeps SATA and IDE drives upright in the docks, keeping your desk neat and tidy. SATA HDDs can be inserted and connected directly via the dedicated dock bay, while the IDE drive bay is conveniently located near the 40-pin and LP4 power connectors on the rear panel, making it easy to connect the included IDE data and power cables.

A single USB 3.0 connection to your host computer allows simultaneous access to both IDE and SATA hard drives, making it a convenient solution for migrating data from an IDE drive to a SATA drive or vice versa. The dock can also be used to expand your computer system's storage and backup capabilities, supporting high-capacity drives (tested up to 6 TB for 3.5-inch drives and up to 2 TB for 2.5-inch drives).

Improved performance with UASP

UASP is supported under Windows 8, Mac OSX (10.8 or higher) and Linux. In tests, UASP shows a 70% higher read speed and a 40% higher write speed compared to conventional USB 3.0 at maximum performance.

With the same peak performance in the test, UASP also shows an 80% reduction in the required processor resources.

Test results were obtained using an Intel® Ivy Bridge system, a UASP-enabled StarTech.com case, and a SATA III solid-state drive.
