The equip® 11943x Series Active Optical HDMI Cables (AOC) are a cabling technology that accepts the same electrical inputs as a traditional copper cable, but uses fiber optics between the connectors to transmit HDMI signals with zero loss and latency. Our hybrid cable design consists of fiber optics and copper wires. High-speed TMDS signals are transmitted over the multimode optical fibers, while low-frequency control signals are transmitted over the copper wires. The long reach of the active optical lines enables transmissions over distances of up to 100m without degradation in signal quality or the need for a separate power supply.
