The IPC 4U-4408 is the perfect rack for a small and cost-effective storage system. With its outstanding material quality and excellent craftsmanship, Inter-Tech has laid the foundation for an extremely versatile enclosure.
The IPC 4U-4408 offers the possibility of installing a maximum of eight 2.5″ or 3.5″ hot-swap hard drives as well as one internal 2.5″ or 3.5″ hard drive (with a 2.5″ hard drive with a height of only 9.5mm, one 3.5″ HDD can also be installed simultaneously). The IPC 4U-4408 is equipped with two 80mm fans as standard.
For use with the backplanes in this product, we recommend controllers from the manufacturers Avago® (formerly LSI®) and Areca®.
Please note:
The supplied backplanes are only suitable for operation on a SAS controller with an SFF-8087 connector.
For operation with a SATA controller, please order the optional crossed SFF8087 to 4x SATA cables in the appropriate quantity.
A NOTICE
When using this product in conjunction with Intel onboard SATA controllers, the controller must be set to RAID mode or the controller ports must be explicitly configured to hotplug/external port. If these settings are not available, proper operation may only be possible with an additional SATA controller.
