With the Macho Direct, we offer a powerful HDT cooler. Based on the well-known Macho design, the cooler is aimed at particularly price-conscious users. Optimized for ultra-quiet operation, the cooler offers outstanding cooling performance without any frills at an extremely attractive price.

The original Macho design has, of course, been retained: The heatsink is oriented toward the rear of the case to avoid incompatibilities when using memory modules with high-profile heat spreaders. The aluminum cooling fins feature multiple air holes to prevent air from accumulating between the individual fins.

The Macho Direct utilizes the Heatpipe Direct Touch principle. Five 6 mm heatpipes ensure particularly efficient dissipation of processor heat. The heatpipes feature a convex shape, as is typical of Thermalright. This patented Thermalright heatpipe design, which is intentionally not ground flat, gives the Macho Direct outstanding cooling performance for an HDT cooler.

Another advantage of the HDT design is the reduced height of the Macho Direct. The HDT cooler is approximately 4 mm lower than a Macho, allowing it to fit into cases where a “regular” Macho would be too tall.

The special design of the heatsink's aluminum fins enables particularly low air resistance and is optimized for slow-rotating fans. The additional perforation of the cooling fins counteracts heat buildup between the individual fin layers, thus further supporting efficient temperature reduction.

The Macho comes standard with the temperature-controlled Thermalright TY 140 Black (PWM) fan. The fan is specifically optimized for the Macho Direct. With a speed of 300 to 1,300 rpm, the TY 140 Black is particularly quiet. The TY 140 Black is equipped with a low-wear “Enhanced Hyper-Flow Bearing.”

The airflow varies between 28.7 and an impressive 125 m³/h. The proven fan, with its unique design, features the mounting points of a conventional 120 mm fan while boasting a larger inner diameter than standard 140 mm fans. The fan is securely mounted to the heatsink with the included, redesigned brackets; special anti-vibration pads for a decoupled mounting are included.

The Macho Direct comes with a universal mounting kit that supports all current Intel and AMD platforms (Intel LGA1156/1155/2011/1150/2011-3/1151* and AMD AM2/AM2+/AM3/FM1/FM2/FM2+).

To make installing the cooler as easy as possible with the motherboard already installed, the popular screwdriver with a magnetic tip is included in the accessories. The Chill Factor thermal paste in a blister pack rounds out the package.
