SecuFirm2™ Multi-Socket Mounting System
Noctua's SecuFirm2™ mounting systems have become synonymous with quality, security, and ease of installation. The SecuFirm2™ mounting system included in the NH-U12A supports Intel LGA1851, LGA1700 (since 2021), LGA1200, LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA1151, LGA1150, as well as AMD AM4 and AM5 (since 2019). Offset mounting option for AMD AM5
The NH-U12A chromax.black is equipped with Noctua's offset mounting brackets for AM5, which allow the cooler to be mounted 7mm further south on the socket, thus achieving better contact directly over the CCD(s). This improved contact at the processor's hotspot can significantly reduce CPU temperature, with typical improvements in the range of 1-3°C.

Compatibility with older and future sockets
Thanks to Noctua's SecuFirm2™ ecosystem, the NH-U12A can be made compatible with the older LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets using the optional, free NM-I3 mounting kit. Where technically feasible, Noctua will also offer upgrade kits for future sockets – making the NH-U12A a secure long-term investment!
