The NH-L9x65 is a taller, more powerful version of Noctua's award-winning NH-L9 low-profile coolers. With a height of 65mm instead of 37mm and four heatpipes instead of two, the NH-L9x65 offers significantly more power reserves than its lower-profile sister models, yet retains their 95x95mm footprint. This ensures 100% RAM and PCIe compatibility with Intel-based ITX motherboards, and the cooler doesn't block any connectors close to the socket. Thanks to the highly optimized NF-A9x14 premium fan with PWM support for automatic speed control, the NH-L9x65 remains remarkably quiet during operation. The scope of delivery is rounded off by the professional SecuFirm2™ multi-socket mounting system and Noctua's renowned NT-H1 thermal paste – so the NH-L9x65 combines the usual advantages of larger Noctua coolers in a compact, all-round high-quality package for systems with limited space.
65mm low-profile construction
Thanks to the compact heatsink and the slim NF-A9x14 fan, the overall height of the NH-L9x65 is only 65mm – the same height as low-profile expansion cards. This makes the cooler ideal for use in compact HTPCs or small form factor cases that offer limited space for CPU coolers.
100% RAM compatibility on Intel platforms
The NH-L9x65 features a 95x95mm footprint that fits precisely into the keep-out zone of the Intel LGA17xx/1200 socket. This eliminates problems with chipset coolers and the cooler doesn't hang over the RAM slots, ensuring full compatibility with high-density memory modules.
100% compatibility with PCIe cards on mini-ITX
On many Intel LGA17xx/1200-based mini-ITX motherboards, the PCIe slot is located close to the 95x95mm socket. While larger coolers often block the PCIe slot, the 95x95mm NH-L9x65 offers full compatibility with PCIe cards.
Easy access to socket-near connections
Many low-profile coolers rely on larger fans and heatsinks to ensure sufficient cooling performance, but this protrudes beyond the socket area, often making it difficult or even impossible to reach connectors close to the socket on densely populated ITX motherboards. With its 95x95mm footprint, the NH-L9x65 offers convenient access to all connectors and components.
NF-A9x14 PWM Premium Fan
The highly optimized NF-A9x14 premium fan supports PWM for fully automatic speed control and utilizes innovative aerodynamic design measures and Noctua's AAO frame system. This ensures the NH-L9x65 remains remarkably quiet.
Low-Noise Adapter
With the Low-Noise Adapter (LNA), the speed of the NF-A9x14 PWM fan can be reduced from 2500 to 1800 rpm. This allows for virtually silent systems with low-heat CPUs.
SecuFirm2™ mounting system
Noctua's SecuFirm2™ mounting systems have become synonymous with quality, reliability, and easy installation. The NH-L9x65's SecuFirm2™ system supports Intel LGA1851, LGA1700 (since 2021), LGA1200, LGA115x (LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156), and AMD (AM4, AM5) (since 2019). It's easy to install, ensures optimal contact pressure, and offers perfect performance even under intensive use for many years.
Offset mounting option for AMD AM5
The NH-L9x65 features Noctua's offset mounting bridges for AM5, allowing the cooler to be mounted 7mm toward the south side of the socket, achieving better contact quality directly above the CCD(s). This improved contact, precisely at the processor hotspot, can significantly reduce CPU temperatures, with typical improvements in the range of 1-3°C.
Compatibility with older and future sockets
The cooler complies with the open SecuFirm™ standard and can be made compatible with the older LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets using the optional NM-I3 mounting kit, available free of charge from Noctua. Where technically feasible, Noctua will also offer upgrade kits for future sockets.
