The NH-D9L is a premium cooler with a dual-tower design that offers outstanding silent cooling performance with a total height of just 110mm. Its comparatively low height (15mm less than classic 9cm coolers like the NH-U9S) not only guarantees full 3U compatibility, but also makes the NH-D9L an ideal solution for compact HTPC and small form factor cases where the airflow runs parallel to the motherboard. Thanks to its 95x95mm footprint, the NH-D9L does not overhang the memory banks or PCIe slots on all Intel and most AMD-based ITX motherboards. The included NF-A9 premium fan, whose speed can be fully automatically controlled via PWM, ensures exceptionally quiet operation. With a second, optionally available NF-A9 fan, the cooling performance in dual-fan mode can be further improved. Low-profile tower cooler for better airflow efficiency
While most low-profile coolers direct the airflow toward the motherboard, the NH-D9L is a tower cooler with airflow parallel to the motherboard. This allows for better airflow efficiency in common cases with front and/or rear fans.

3U Compatibility
While classic 9cm coolers with a height of up to 125mm can usually only be installed in 4U cases, the NH-D9L with its reduced height of 110mm also fits in 3U cases and is therefore ideal for noise-sensitive 3U applications such as audio or video processing.

100% RAM compatibility
With its footprint of 95x95mm, the NH-D9L doesn't overhang the RAM slots on current Intel and most AMD motherboards. This not only ensures easy access to the memory modules but also full compatibility with modules with tall heatsinks.

100% compatibility with PCIe cards on ITX
On many Intel LGA17xx/1200-based mini-ITX motherboards, the PCIe slot is located close to the 95x95mm socket. While larger coolers often block the slot, the 95x95mm NH-D9L guarantees full compatibility with PCIe cards—regardless of whether they're installed on ATX, microATX, or ITX.

NF-A9 Premium Fan
The highly optimized fan features Noctua's proprietary AAO frame system and advanced aerodynamic design features such as Flow Acceleration Channels. With its further increased efficiency compared to Noctua's previous 92mm models, it contributes significantly to the NH-D9L's superior cooling performance.

PWM support and low-noise adapter
The NH-D9L's NF-A9 92mm fan supports PWM for convenient, fully automatic speed control via the motherboard. Furthermore, the included low-noise adapter allows the maximum speed to be reduced from 2000 to 1550 rpm for even quieter operation.

Optional dual fan operation
The NH-D9L comes with an additional pair of fan clamps. These allow a second, optionally available NF-A9 fan to be mounted on the front of the cooler for even better cooling performance. The Y-cable included with the optional NF-A9 PWM fan allows both fans to be operated and controlled from a single motherboard connector.

SecuFirm2™ mounting system
Noctua's SecuFirm2™ mounting systems have become synonymous with quality, reliability, and easy installation. The NH-D9L's SecuFirm2™ system supports Intel LGA1851, LGA1700 (since 2021), LGA1200, LGA115x (LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156), and AMD (AM4, AM5 (since 2019)). It's easy to install, ensures optimal contact pressure, and offers perfect performance even under intensive use for many years.

Offset mounting option for AMD AM5
The NH-D9L features Noctua's offset mounting bridges for AM5, allowing the cooler to be mounted 7mm toward the south side of the socket, achieving better contact quality directly above the CCD(s). This improved contact, precisely at the processor hotspot, can significantly reduce CPU temperatures, with typical improvements in the range of 1-3°C.

Compatibility with older and future sockets
The NH-D9L complies with the open SecuFirm™ standard and can be made compatible with the older LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets using the optional NM-I3 mounting kit, available free of charge from Noctua. Where technically feasible, Noctua will also offer upgrade kits for future sockets.
