Highly efficient Wi-Fi 6 for complex environments
WLAN networks are now part of all areas of life. Whether office environments, schools, universities, shopping centers, sports stadiums or event locations, no area can do without WLAN. This Wi-Fi 6 access point offers low latency and high throughput per client, even with a high density of end devices. The option of connecting external WLAN antennas ensures precise coverage in complex environments. So trust in the possibilities of High Efficiency Wireless – Made by LANCOM.
Dual Concurrent Wi-Fi 6 with aggregate data rate of up to 3,550 Mbit/s
The LANCOM LX-6402 offers WLAN in the Wi-Fi 6 standard (IEEE 802.11ax) and can provide both clients in the 2.4 GHz frequency band and modern end devices in the 5 GHz band with fast WLAN. The Wi-Fi 6 technology enables transmission rates of up to 2,400 Mbit/s in 5 GHz and parallel up to 1,150 Mbit/s in 2.4 GHz.
4×4 multi-user MIMO in downlink and uplink
Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO for short) enables the distribution of all available spatial streams of the LANCOM LX-6402 to several different clients simultaneously instead of serving them one after the other as was previously the case. This means that the available bandwidth is used efficiently and delays in the wireless network are massively reduced. With Wi-Fi 6, MU-MIMO can be used not only in the downlink but also in the uplink.
OFDMA – Carpooling in the radio field
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) divides the frequency range of a WLAN channel into several frequency blocks within a unit of time. This creates sub-channels (sub-carriers) that can be as narrow as 2 MHz. Small data packets, such as those expected from IoT devices, no longer block the 20, 40 or even 80 MHz wide channel on their own. On the other hand, the Wi-Fi 6 access point can combine several sub-channels and transport them together. A kind of carpooling that avoids many cars with only one person blocking the traffic and instead empties the streets with a few cars with several passengers.
160 MHz channel width
The access point supports channel bandwidths of 20, 40 and 80 MHz (with 4 streams) and 160 MHz (with 2 streams). End devices with two antennas that support reception of 160 MHz benefit from strong data rates of up to 2,400 Mbits in the 5 GHz frequency band.
Longer battery life thanks to TWT
Until now, smartphones, tablets and notebooks always had to be ready to receive in order not to miss any incoming data packets. This quickly used up the battery charge. Wi-Fi 6 brings a new technology that counteracts power consumption on the client side. Target Wake Time, or TWT for short, reduces consumption by allowing the access point and client to negotiate exactly when the receiver will wake up to receive the data packets.
Band Steering
Optimal load distribution in your wireless network thanks to active control of the clients to the less busy and more powerful 5 GHz frequency band.
Operation via LANCOM Management Cloud
The LANCOM LX-6402 offers maximum user-friendliness: Managed via the LANCOM Management Cloud, it is integrated into a holistic, automated network orchestration based on software-defined networking technology.
Operation via WLC is in preparation
The operation of the LANCOM LX-6402 access point via wireless LAN controller will follow in early 2020. Alternatively, we would like to point out the possibility of management via the LANCOM Management Cloud.
WLAN security standard WPA3
WPA3, the successor to WPA2, offers important extensions and security features for small (“WPA3-Personal”) and large networks (“WPA3-Enterprise”).
LANCOM security for wireless networks
With numerous integrated security functions such as IEEE 802.1X, this enterprise access point ensures optimal security in networks. This means that both administrators and employees benefit from professional security policies in the network.
Flexible power supply
The LANCOM LX-6402 can be flexibly operated via Power over Ethernet (PoE) according to IEEE 802.3at on any PoE-powered Ethernet port. Alternatively, the access point is powered via the included power supply unit with various plug adapters (EU, UK, US, AU).
