Description

Hewlett Packard Enterprise C7975A. Tape type: LTO, uncompressed capacity: 1500 GB, capacity (compressed): 3000 GB. Tape size: 1.27 cm, tape length: 846 m, tape thickness: 6.4 µm

The extensively tested HPE LTO Ultrium data cartridges meet all requirements and are characterized by high reliability when restoring data, high storage density, easy manageability and expandable storage and backup performance. LTO-Ultrium includes seven generations of storage – LTO-1 (200 GB), LTO-2 (400 GB), LTO-3 (800 GB), LTO-4 (1.6 TB), LTO-5 (3 TB), LTO -6 (6.25 TB), LTO-7 (15 TB) – and enables transfer speeds of up to 2.5 TB / h with LTO-7.

This means that there is a platform for all requirements and every budget. Starting with LTO-3, LTO Ultrium WORM data cartridges enable the creation of compatible, permanent and tamper-proof archives.

From LTO-4, the secure AES-256 encryption offers an even higher level of data security and compliance with regard to the strictest industry-specific regulations to prevent unauthorized data access. As of LTO-5, the use of tape drives is as easy, flexible, mobile and intuitive as with other exchangeable and shared storage media thanks to the LTO Ultrium Linear Tape File System

Functions
Highest capacity and performance of any comparable tape technology

HPE LTO-7 Ultrium writes or reads up to 2.5 TB of data per hour. Up to 15 TB can be stored, encrypted and protected on a single cartridge – ideal for large, 24/7, business-critical IT environments.
Thanks to a 64% higher number of titles and a 25% higher bit density, the capacity was increased from 6.25 TB for LTO-6 to 15 TB for LTO-7: From 2,176 titles for LTO-6 to 3,584 titles for the 7th generation of the HPE LTO-7 Ultrium data cartridges (15 TB).
The memory chip for LTO-Ultrium data cartridges enables shorter access times and extended media monitoring.
Successful recovery from the start. Fewer media errors and fewer interrupted backups – regardless of the load and environmental conditions.

Extremely reliable
The first-class 'Smart Grabber' process and mechanical locks prevent the pin tape guide from being pulled into the tape housing. Sensors recognize the correct connection and prevent the tape guide from being lost and the tape being destroyed as a result.
Simplified tape path for less wear and tear and less debris (important in automation).
HPE's qualification and test procedures (loading / unloading, “shoe cleaning test”, drop tests, stress tests) go far beyond the requirements for receiving the LTO Ultrium logo. This ensures maximum reliability when restoring data.
HPE guarantees an archive life of up to 30 years for LTO Ultrium data cartridges. In this way, companies can meet the increasingly strict legal requirements for data storage and archiving.

Secure
Write-Once-Read-Many (WORM) prevents manipulation and enables data storage in accordance with the rules.
Data encryption for higher data security on HP LTO-4, LTO-5, LTO-6 and LTO-7 Ultrium. Compliance with FIPS 140-2 Level 1 security standards.

Good value for money
If you make HPE LTO Ultrium the standard solution, you get the capacity you need for shorter backup periods, benefit from AES 256-bit encryption according to industry standard (IEEE 1619.1) and can choose between RW or WORM media; without additional space or IT resources required.
A technology based on open standards ensures the compatibility of different product generations and provides more choice. Cassettes are available with a customer-specific number sequence, with a free number sequence (both customer-specific and non-customer-specific variants include RFID options from LTO-4) and in non-labeled versions.
