Highly efficient
Wi-Fi 6 for universal use
Wi-Fi is omnipresent today, whether in office environments, schools, universities, shopping centers, sports stadiums, or event venues. Using the LANCOM LX-6400, you'll enjoy an excellent Wi-Fi experience. This Wi-Fi 6 access point offers low latency and high throughput per client, even with high device density. So, rely on the possibilities of High Efficiency Wireless – Made by LANCOM.
Advantages
Dual Concurrent Wi-Fi 6 with aggregate data rate of up to 3,550 Mbps
The LANCOM LX-6400 offers Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax) and can provide fast Wi-Fi to both clients in the 2.4 GHz frequency band and modern devices in the 5 GHz band. Wi-Fi 6 technology enables transfer rates of up to 2,400 Mbps in the 5 GHz band and up to 1,150 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band.
4×4 multi-user MIMO in downlink and uplink
Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO for short) enables the distribution of all available spatial streams of the LANCOM LX-6400 to multiple different clients simultaneously, instead of serving them one after the other as before. This efficiently utilizes the available bandwidth and massively reduces delays in the wireless network. With Wi-Fi 6, MU-MIMO can be used not only in the downlink but also in the uplink.
Professional IoT support via BLE and USB
With the LANCOM LX-6400, you can easily immerse yourself in the world of the Internet of Things (IoT). Support for Bluetooth Low Energy (5.1) and USB 3.0 opens up numerous possibilities for communicating with modern Wi-Fi sensors in devices or objects, as well as for innovative applications such as asset tracking. This allows you to easily operate solutions for digital room signage, electronic shelf labels, and other ePaper applications via the optionally available LANCOM Wireless ePaper USB.
OFDMA – Carpooling in the radio field
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) divides the frequency range of a Wi-Fi channel into multiple frequency blocks within a unit of time. This creates subchannels (subcarriers) that can be as narrow as 2 MHz. Small data packets, such as those expected from IoT devices, no longer block the 20, 40, or even 80 MHz channel on their own. On the other hand, the Wi-Fi 6 access point can combine multiple subchannels and transmit them together. This creates a kind of carpooling system that prevents many cars with only one occupant from blocking traffic, and instead allows the streets to be cleared by a few cars with multiple occupants.
160 MHz channel width
The access point supports channel bandwidths of 20, 40, and 80 MHz (with four streams) as well as 160 MHz (with two streams). Devices with two antennas supporting 160 MHz reception benefit from high data rates of up to 2,400 Mbps in the 5 GHz frequency band.
Longer battery life thanks to TWT
Until now, smartphones, tablets, and laptops had to be constantly ready to receive data to avoid missing any incoming data packets. This quickly drained the battery charge. Wi-Fi 6 introduces a new technology that counteracts power consumption on the client side. Target Wake Time, or TWT for short, reduces consumption by allowing the access point and client to negotiate exactly when the receiver will wake up to receive the data packets.
Band Steering
Optimal load distribution in your wireless network thanks to active client control over the less congested and more powerful 5 GHz frequency band.
Operation via LANCOM Management Cloud
The LANCOM LX-6400 offers maximum user-friendliness: Managed via the LANCOM Management Cloud, it is integrated into a holistic, automated network orchestration based on software-defined networking technology.
Modern web interface for single device operation
For stand-alone operation, the intuitive web interface of the new WEBconfig offers the best overview for comprehensive management and monitoring. The device can be set up in just a few moments. Modern dashboards clearly display the current Wi-Fi status and enable easy setup of individual Wi-Fi networks (SSID) and the associated network keys. Other smart features, such as the simple integration of new clients via QR codes, are also available.
Operation via a WLAN controller
The LANCOM LX-6400 offers maximum flexibility in terms of operating mode. In addition to stand-alone operation or integration into the LANCOM Management Cloud, management can also be performed centrally via a WLAN controller.
WLAN security standard WPA3
WPA3, the successor to WPA2, offers important extensions and security features for small (“WPA3-Personal”) and large networks (“WPA3-Enterprise”).
LANCOM security for wireless networks
With numerous integrated security features such as IEEE 802.1X, this enterprise access point ensures optimal network security. Thus, both administrators and employees benefit from professional network security policies.
Flexible power supply
The LANCOM LX-6400 can be flexibly operated via Power over Ethernet (PoE) according to IEEE 802.3at on any PoE-powered Ethernet port. Alternatively, the access point can be powered using the included power adapter.
