With the LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewalls, small and medium-sized companies receive a tailor-made complete solution for state-of-the-art security and Unified Threat Management (UTM). Operated stand-alone or via the LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC), the next-generation firewalls ensure reliable cyber security. Thanks to the setup wizard and the graphical operating concept, intuitive operation and a clear overview of all secured areas in your company are possible.

Advantages
Highest security “Made in Germany”
The increasing cyber risks are leading to higher demands on corporate security, data protection and the availability of complex IT systems. LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewalls are next-generation firewalls that are developed and programmed in Germany. Thanks to Unified Threat Management (UTM) functions, they optimally complement existing LANCOM network infrastructures with the aspect of IT security. This also includes the use of the latest cybersecurity technologies such as sandboxing and machine learning. In addition, thanks to the use of clustering and redundant hardware, the company's IT remains available at all times. This means future-proof protection for corporate networks and “no backdoors”.

Intuitive operation through setup wizard and web interface
An intuitive installation wizard enables easy initial configuration with just a few mouse clicks in less than five minutes.
The user-friendliness of the web interface of the LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewalls supports the user in providing the highest level of cyber security. Human errors when configuring the firewall can be greatly reduced, as all firewall rules of the network are displayed clearly and concisely graphically. This central management console in the browser enables both very good fine-tuning and a comprehensive overview of secured devices and connections in the network. This not only makes it easier to implement security requirements, but also saves time by simply combining rules. In addition, a practical wizard supports the initial setup. Comprehensive audit and compliance reports also ensure maximum transparency.

cloud-managed firewall
The LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewalls are cloud-ready! A simple and secure pairing process via PIN or activation code connects the devices to the LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC). They are then displayed in the device overview, which allows clear monitoring and an alarm function for the device status. The firewall management interface can be accessed from the LMC via a web tunnel and remote configuration can be carried out.

Cloud-based protection against viruses and malware
To effectively defend against malware and viruses, the firewall offers reliable detection of suspicious files. To protect against unknown threats (“zero-day exploits”), suspicious files are loaded into a protected cloud. In this separate environment, they are safely and reliably tested (sandboxing). Analysis using third-generation machine learning, based on billions of samples, enables scanning and proactive blocking based on behavior. The cloud used is hosted in Germany and complies with European data protection guidelines.

SSL Inspection: Defense against complex cyber attacks via encrypted channels
The increasing encryption of data traffic is welcome from a confidentiality perspective, but it also carries the risk of malware penetrating systems via encrypted channels. Thanks to SSL Inspection, scanning, filtering and application detection can also be used for encrypted data packets and security requirements can be successfully implemented.

Deep Packet Inspection: detailed filtering and control of applications and protocols
To protect against complex cyber attacks, the firewalls provide insight into encrypted data traffic via deep packet inspection (DPI). Thanks to the industry-leading R&S®PACE2 DPI engine, the UTM firewalls enable precise classification of network traffic, the protocols and applications used, and protection against data leaks. Fine-grained security policies actively regulate the use of certain applications such as streaming services or browsers.

Unified Security
Working closely together, LANCOM – as Europe’s largest network manufacturer – and Rohde & Schwarz – a global corporation based in Munich and an established player in the cybersecurity market – are creating a unique combination of trustworthy network infrastructure and IT security “Made in Germany”.
