The NETGEAR M4300 Stackable Switch family delivers cost-effective L2/L3/L4 and IPv4/IPv6 services to the edge and core of small and medium-sized businesses with unmatched ease of use: 10-Gigabit models stack seamlessly with 1-Gigabit models within the stack, enabling line-rate spine-and-leaf stacking topologies. Non-Stop Forwarding (NSF) virtual chassis architectures provide advanced high availability (HA) with hitless failover within the stack. Two redundant power modules on the full-width models contribute to business continuity management. The Layer 3 feature set includes static, dynamic, and policy-based routing as standard. The NETGEAR M4300 switch series is ideal for wireless access, unified communications, and IP video. It's also future-proof, supporting software-defined networking (SDN) and OpenFlow 1.3 in your network.
Best-in-class stacking
– The M4300 is designed for flexible mixed stacking with 10 Gigabit and 1 Gigabit models, using any type of 10G port (RJ45, SFP+, DAC cable).
– High availability is another key differentiator for stackable solutions: In the event of a master switch failure, Non Stop Forwarding and Hitless Failover ensure that the standby switch takes over, while the forwarding layer forwards traffic to the operational stack members – without service interruption.
Greater flexibility
– Two half-width M4300 switches can be combined in a single 1U rack space for redundant top-of-rack installation with auto-iSCSI prioritization.
– The 10 Gigabit ports are all independent and 1G backward compatible for the gradual transition to 10G speeds.
Less complexity
– The entire feature set including L2 switching (multi-level access control) and L3 routing (static, RIP, OSPF, VRRP, PIM, PBR) are available without a license.
– Innovative auto-installation with DHCP/BootP including automated firmware and configuration file upload.
Investment protection
– Line-rate spine-and-leaf topologies offer a wide range of possibilities in server rooms, in branch-collapsed cores or at the network edge.
– Even if a company is not yet prepared for SDN, OpenFlow support offers a future-proof design for maximum investment protection.
Secure services
– With successive tiering, the Authentication Manager enables authentication methods per port for tiered authentication based on configured timeouts.
– For BYOD, multi-factor (Dot1x -> MAB -> Captive Portal) authentication is effective and easy to implement, including strict policies.
Industry standard management
– Industry-standard Command Line Interface (CLI), functional NETGEAR web interface (GUI), SNMP, sFlow and RSPAN
– NMS300 single-pane-of-glass management platform with centralized firmware updates and support for mass configuration
Industry-leading warranty
– The NETGEAR M4300 series is backed by the NETGEAR ProSAFE Lifetime Hardware Warranty.
– 90-day technical support via phone and email, lifetime technical support via online chat and lifetime next-business-day hardware replacement.
