Two-way functionality
A state-of-the-art two-way scanning mechanism allows users to complete all tasks in one place. Both scanning paths process thicker objects such as ID cards or passports (including machine-readable areas) as well as A4 documents using the same device. In addition to the obvious benefits such as saving time and effort, the documents remain in the customer's field of vision, supporting GDPR compliance and providing customers with peace of mind.

Space-saving design
The fi-800R takes up only half the space of comparable products, making it perfect for reception areas or other locations with limited space. The innovative reversing mechanism with automatic stacking technology ejects paper from the top of the scanner, eliminating the front output tray and drastically reducing the machine's footprint. As a result, the fi-800R requires only about half an A4 page as a footprint.

Easily scan ID cards and passports
Thanks to the fi-800R's convenient reverse feed function, scanning identification documents is now faster and easier. ID cards up to 5 mm thick and passports are both loaded and ejected from the front of the device—without the need for carrier sheets or paper guide changes.

Our free PaperStream IP driver software is specifically designed to enhance and optimize the quality of scanned images. It removes smudges, prints, and watermarks, producing crisp, legible documents. This, in turn, is crucial for post-processing applications like OCR (Optical Character Recognition). Furthermore, text can be inverted to white characters on a black background to significantly improve readability.

Software automation
Our PaperStream Capture workflow software (also included free of charge) uses patches and barcodes to automatically name, sort, and distribute documents, as well as extract information for indexing and other post-scan processes. Captured data (e.g., from machine-readable areas of a passport) can be automatically integrated into your existing systems and workflows, allowing you to quickly and easily add customer profiles.
