The SECURE BOARD 1.0 presents itself as an ergonomic keyboard with an integrated reader for smart cards and cards/tags with an RF/NFC interface. For additional security and trust, the keyboard can be switched to a secure mode. The device can then verify its authenticity based on a certificate, and keystrokes are encrypted. This eliminates hardware keyloggers, and by blocking the standard keyboard channel, “bad USB attacks” are no longer possible. Thin clients with the necessary software integrated are particularly well-suited for using these functions.
