The LANCOM SFP-GPON-1 SFP transceiver module enables you to establish a direct fiber optic connection with up to 1 Gbps to a GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) network via your LANCOM gateway – without the complex cabling and power supply of a separate provider modem.

Reliable support for GPON technology
GPON technology represents a reliable solution for data transmission via fiber optic to the home (FTTH). A GPON-based network architecture is characterized by flexible bandwidths up to 1G and long ranges. Direct connection to GPON FTTH networks without a separate provider modem
Whereas previously an additional fiber optic modem had to be connected between the fiber optic connection in the home and the router, the LANCOM SFP-GPON-1 now handles the necessary conversion of the incoming data signals. This eliminates the need for cabling and installation of the modem, as well as the need for an additional power supply.
