Direct connection to passive 10G fiber optic lines (FTTH)
Specially developed for 10 Gigabit-capable passive optical networks (XGS-PON) directly into the home (Fiber-to-the-Home / FTTH), the LANCOM SFP-XGSPON-1 SFP transceiver module delivers up to 10 Gbps in both downstream and upstream. Simply plugging it into your LANCOM gateway establishes a direct fiber optic connection to an XGS-PON network. This eliminates the need for the complex installation of a separate provider modem.

Future-proof use of XGS-PON technology
For data transmission via fiber optic to the home (FTTH), XGS-PON technology represents the further development of the GPON standard. XGS-PON offers symmetric speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s in both downstream and upstream, which far exceeds the capacity of conventional GPON networks.

The LANCOM SFP-XGSPON-1 XGS-PON module is backward compatible with LANCOM gateways with 1G SFP interfaces and still offers speeds of up to 1 Gbps. This allows network operators to gradually modernize their infrastructure without disrupting existing services. A seamless upgrade of existing LANCOM devices to XGS-PON technology is therefore easily possible with the LANCOM SFP-XGSPON-1.*

Direct connection to XGS-PON FTTH networks without a separate provider modem
The LANCOM SFP-XGSPON-1 SFP transceiver module handles the necessary conversion of incoming data signals. This eliminates the need for an additional fiber optic modem between the home's fiber optic connection and the gateway. This eliminates the need for cabling and installation of the modem, as well as the need for an additional power supply.

* The compatibility of the LANCOM SFP-XGSPON-1 was tested with the support of Deutsche Telekom for operation on corresponding FTTH connections with 2 Gbit/s.

Easy integration of the LANCOM SFP-XGSPON-1
The uncomplicated connection of a LANCOM SFP-XGSPON-1 module is made via the 1G SFP or 10G SFP+ ports of the LANCOM 1800, 1900 and ISG series as well as the LANCOM 2100EF and LANCOM WLC-2000.

Note: To use the LANCOM SFP-XGSPON-1, at least LCOS version 10.80 RU9 is required. Connecting the module to 1G SFP ports limits the maximum data transfer rate to 1 Gbps.
