Product functionalities
The 8-port gigabit desktop switch TL-SG1008D from TP-LINK offers an easy way to make the transition to Gigabit Ethernet. Increase the speed of your network servers and backbone connections or make gigabit a reality in your workplace. In addition, the TL-SG1008D is designed for lower power consumption. With the innovative, energy-efficient technology of the TL-SG1008D you save up to 80% * of energy, making this device an environmentally friendly solution for your home and office network.

Gigabit switch
Equipped with 8 10/100/1000 Mbps ports, the TL-SG1008D expands your network capacity considerably, enabling the immediate transfer of large files. Frequent users in the home, office, workgroup, or creative production environment can now move large, bandwidth-intensive files faster. Send documents, programs or multimedia files over the network without delay.

Switch to green with your ethernet
You now have the option to go green if you want to upgrade to a gigabit network! This new generation 8-port gigabit switch TL-SG1008D has the latest innovative, energy-efficient technology that can significantly expand your network capacity with much less energy consumption. It automatically adjusts the power consumption to the connection status and the cable length in order to improve the ecological balance of your network.

Power down when ports are not active
When a computer or network device is turned off, the corresponding port on a traditional switch continues to draw a significant amount of power. The TL-SG1008D automatically detects the link status of the individual ports and reduces the power consumption of the ports that are idle, which means energy savings of up to 80%.

Energy allocation according to cable length
Ideally, shorter cables would use less power because less energy is lost along the length of the cable. This is not the case with most devices as they will send the same amount of energy down the cable regardless of whether it is 10 or 50 meters long. The TL-SG1008D analyzes the length of the connected Ethernet cable and adjusts the power allocation accordingly instead of keeping the power consumption at the level of the conventional solution.

Easy to use
The automatic functions of this gigabit switch make installation easy thanks to plug-and-play. No configuration is required. Auto-MDI / MDIX eliminates the need for crossover cables. Auto-tuning on each port detects the connection speed of a network device (10, 100 or 1000Mbps) and intelligently adjusts to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.

* Maximum energy savings compared to a conventional switch from TP-LINK; actual savings may vary based on usage conditions.
