Central WLAN management of large wireless networks
Do you want full control with minimal effort? As a central WLAN controller, the WLC-2000 enables you to do just that. Networks of 25 to 2,000 access points are easily managed and controlled centrally. New access points are automatically commissioned in the network via zero-touch deployment and provided with appropriate configurations. During operation, intelligent functions such as roaming optimization and the selection of the best frequency band and WLAN channel ensure optimal utilization even in complex wireless networks. The LANCOM WLC-2000 thus saves administrators time and offers users the best WLAN experience.
Central firmware rollout, monitoring & management
With the LANCOM WLC-2000, up to 2,000 access points can be centrally configured and controlled fully automatically – a massive time saver and a significant reduction in workload for network administrators. The WLAN controller thus offers unified network control, security, and reliability.
Zero-touch deployment
Fast and easy network integration of new access points and automatic configuration assignment – no manual configuration required. After network authentication, the LANCOM WLC-2000 immediately assigns the appropriate configuration to the access point.
Integrated Public Spot XL option
Thanks to its integrated hotspot function, the LANCOM WLC-2000 is ideal for providing public Internet access for visitors, customers, or other temporary network users. The user benefits from a secure and convenient hotspot, and the hotspot provider has the security of knowing that their own network remains securely separate.
Advantages
Optimized roaming behavior of WLAN clients
LANCOM WLAN controllers ensure communication between the managed access points. This ensures that clients are efficiently handed over from one WLAN device to the other when switching between two radio fields – without connection interruptions.
VLAN, RADIUS and IEEE 802.1X/EAP functions
Thanks to extensive virtualization and security features, WLAN networks can be designed very efficiently and in accordance with company-specific security policies. The integrated VLAN function enables the separation of multiple, securely separated WLAN networks within a single infrastructure. Professional security features also allow the administrator to restrict network access to authorized clients only.
Maximum future security
LANCOM products are fundamentally designed for long-term use and therefore feature future-proof hardware dimensions. Even across product generations, updates to the LANCOM Operating Systems family, including major features, are available free of charge several times a year.
Highest operational reliability
The LANCOM Smart Controller principle ensures maximum operational reliability: While management data runs through the controller, traffic data is sent from the client directly to the access point and from there directly to the router. If a controller fails, the access point switches to standalone operation, and communication between the client and access point is maintained. This eliminates unproductive periods in everyday work due to employees being unable to access the network or Wi-Fi-controlled production systems failing.
High availability
In combination with the LANCOM High Availability Clustering Option, multiple WLAN controllers are grouped into a highly available device group. This allows configuration changes, functions, and extensions made to one WLC to be automatically propagated to the other WLCs in the cluster without the need to manually manage each individual device – a significant time-saver for the administrator.
