The bread knife has a long, sturdy, serrated blade. It tears through the hard crust of bread and cuts clean slices. The bread knife also cuts soft fruit or croissants without crushing them. Thanks to the serrated edge, the bread knife cuts perfectly straight, practically “pulling” through the food without the blade sliding at an angle. The serrated edge doesn't need to be resharpened. The bread knife is a basic knife tool. It's also included in some WMF knife sets.
