With its eight future-proof fiber optic SFP+ ports, this 10G aggregation switch acts as a central hub for connecting additional access switches in smaller distributed networks. Two additional multi-gigabit Ethernet ports (10/5/2.5/1G) enable flexible and cost-effective integration of high-performance network components. Thanks to comprehensive LANCOM network management, the device can be configured dynamically and automatically via LANCOM Management Cloud (SD-LAN) or using a cloud-enabled web GUI and cloud-enabled CLI.

Flexible network topologies
The LANCOM XS-5110F is ideal as an aggregation instance for networking access switches. Depending on the size of the installation, it can be integrated into the network topology either at the top level to the WAN (two-tier design) or at the second level between a core switch and the access switches (three-tier design).

Flexibility and investment protection thanks to LANCOM fail-safe stacking
Network expansion is incredibly easy with stacking, as multiple physical switches can be combined into a single logical unit for convenient maintenance and management. If your network needs to be expanded later, the new switch receives automated configuration from the stack master and is ready to use within seconds. The LANCOM XS-5110F offers fail-safe device or network redundancy via two of its downlink ports, which are designated as stacking ports.

Static routing & DHCP server functionality
The LANCOM XS-5110F is capable of handling Layer 3 tasks such as DHCP server functionality (i.e., IP address management) and the predefinition of network routes across one or more network segments. This relieves the router or firewall and increases overall data exchange speed. The freed-up capacity is then available to handle external data traffic, further improving the efficiency of the entire network.

Configurable access control
The LANCOM XS-5110F ensures that no unauthorized clients gain access to the network. This is made possible by secure access control on all ports according to IEEE 802.1X (port-based, single-, multi- and MAC-based) or access control via ACLs (Access Control Lists).

Secure remote management
Thanks to secure communication protocols such as SSH, SSL, and SNMPv3, the LANCOM XS-5110F enables professional remote network management. Furthermore, the switch supports the TACACS+ protocol for authentication, authorization, and accounting. This is an optimal solution that promises maximum security, especially when managing and monitoring networks across multiple locations.

SD-LAN – easily administer complex networking scenarios
The LANCOM Management Cloud allows for quick and easy integration and automated configuration of the LANCOM XS-5110F into the network. SD-LAN replaces individual device configuration with holistic network orchestration and enables automatic VLAN assignment to the desired switch ports. Configurations can be coordinated across locations, taking the network architecture into account, and simultaneously deployed or updated with a single mouse click.

Secure Terminal Access
This function allows direct access to the command line of the LANCOM switch (“CLI Tunneling”) or its web GUI (“GUI Tunneling”) from the LANCOM Management Cloud – encrypted and, most importantly, without leaving the cloud interface. Whether it's “trace” and “ping” commands for rapid troubleshooting, access to low-level configuration parameters and detailed statistics of the LCOS SX operating system, or secure remote access to external devices on the local network via the integrated SSH client – Secure Terminal Access provides expert functions as well as comprehensive diagnostic and troubleshooting commands for the devices.
